At GSUSA we are committed to working for diversity, equity, inclusion, and racial justice (DEI/RJ) across Girl Scouts so that all girls can feel a sense of belonging with us. The Ford Foundation understands the importance of this and is stepping up to provide funding that will ensure GSUSA can continue on its DEI/RJ journey, which includes long-term work toward becoming an anti-racist organization.
Ford’s generous support will allow us to bring on experts to work with the DEI/RJ Advisory Committee of the GSUSA Board of Directors and our DEI/RJ Steering Committee made up of council and GSUSA leaders—two bodies that are leading our efforts in support of a more inclusive Girl Scouts. The grant will also enable us to implement an organization-wide DEI/RJ audit of our policies, practices, and programming, as well as evaluate the experiences of our current and potential members—an extensive process that will inform the actions we take to advance the work of DEI/RJ in communities across the Girl Scout Movement.
