Trinity, 16, from Girl Scouts of Orange County, is one of the bright shining stars featured on the front of the NEW Thin Mints®️ Girl Scout Cookie box! A first-year Ambassador, Trinity is a seasoned Girl Scout (12 years and counting!) who loves to volunteer in her community, participate in STEM activities, play softball and volleyball, go on camping adventures with her Girl Scout troop, and so much more. And now she’s representing the Movement across the country, too!
“It’s such an honor to be featured on the new Girl Scout Cookie boxes,” Trinity said. “I’ve been a Girl Scout and selling cookies since Daisies, and just to see how far I’ve come is incredible. This experience made my year extra special, because I finally hit my lifelong 10,000 cookie box sale goal last season. The photoshoot itself was a unique experience and so much fun!”
Over the years, Trinity has learned a lot from participating in the Girl Scout Cookie Program—from money management and social skills to inventory and goal setting, she continues to be inspired to reach higher and grow more every year. And in 2018, she had the opportunity to travel to New York City, visit Girl Scouts HQ, meet former CEO Sylvia Acevedo, take part in the cookie box photoshoot, explore the city, make new friends, and more. Talk about an epic adventure and wonderful lifelong memories!
Aside from running her cookie business like a pro, Trinity’s favorite part of being a Girl Scout is the frequent access to leadership opportunities and the ability to be a role model to younger girls. For the last two years, Trinity has participated in the Counselor in Training (CIT) Summer Leadership Experience at Camp Scherman in Idyllwild, California and she loves it.
“It’s been such a big leadership opportunity for me, to learn how to care for younger girls and see the camp experience from a different perspective,” Trinity said. “The girls really look up to me, and I think that’s a big part of being a leader. I remember when I looked up to older girls, and now I get to be that inspiration ”
As part of her leadership journey, Trinity has also earned her Girl Scout Bronze and Silver Awards. For her Bronze, Trinity and her troop decided to tackle bullying. They wrote a script and recorded a video which was then presented to a local elementary school to help educate kids about bullying and how it affects others—early.
For her Silver Award, Trinity and her troop collected backpacks that would otherwise have been thrown away at the end of the school year, and filled them with toiletries, socks, and other donated everyday essentials to hand out to homeless people in her area.
“Feminine hygiene products, soap, hairbrushes, and even a conversation—all of these things make us feel human and we take them for granted every day, but they mean so much to people in need and on the street.”
Trinity’s now busy thinking of a Gold Award project to pursue, and we can’t wait to see what area she’ll impact next in her community and beyond!
“I think it’s important for me to continue to be a Girl Scout even as I get older because it really prepares you for your future,” Trinity said. “You learn all about leadership and life skills, and both are so important as you become an adult. Being a Girl Scout has impacted my life so much. It’s so much fun to make new friends and to inspire others to take action in their community too!”
Trinity’s mom and troop leader, Danielle, is impressed with Trinity and her phenomenal leadership skills. “If there’s any leadership lacking in a group, Trinity will jump right in and take the lead—I think she gets that from Girl Scouts. She’s also so unbelievably committed to her passions and that’s Girl Scouts right there, too!”
When the world looks at the new Thin Mints Girl Scout Cookie box and sees Trinity and her Girl Scout sisters shining bright, full of big ideas and hope for the future, they’ll know what a go-getting, barrier-breaking, goal-crushing leader looks like. We’re so proud of you, Trinity, and we’re honored to have you represent Girl Scouts on the box!
