There’s nothing like the sweet taste of victory! And no one knows it better than Girl Scout Seniors in Troop 64146 from Middlebury, Connecticut. For an entire year, these brave, resourceful risk-takers worked hard to sell Girl Scout Cookies, nuts, and candies to make possible an unforgettable adventure to Maine and Massachusetts. During their hard-earned trip, the girls enjoyed whitewater rafting at the Crab Apple Whitewater and camped at the nearby Country Aire Campground—so much fun! The girls pitched their tents next to a babbling brook, faced their fears in the water, and practiced their camp cooking skills by whipping up delicious s’mores, a Dutch oven pizza, and even a dump cake—yum!
“These girls are a true success story,” said their troop leader, Shawna Lee Kawshnak. “When they were planning their whitewater trip, we were tight on funds, and they had to be very selective on how to achieve their goal. I refused to tell them ‘no.’ So they just decided to stay a little more local and enjoy their weekend. The best part is they learned that roadblocks don’t have to be deal-breakers.”
Now that’s how you take the lead like a Girl Scout. Here’s to you, Troop 64146. Cheers to a lifetime of leadership and adventure!
