The Best Way Girl Scouts Can Thank You this Volunteer Appreciation Month
April is Volunteer Appreciation Month and it’s no secret that Girl Scouts would not be possible without troop leaders. You help Girl Scouts dream big. You encourage them to become changemakers, trailblazers, and explorers. You’re their role model and that is no small job!
There are so many ways to say thank you, but we think Girl Scouts say it best. Here are the members of Troop 4632 with how they are saying “thank you” this April:
Say Thank You with a Surprise
“If you respect and admire a leader, one way to show appreciation is to tell them that you value their dedication and work. This lets them know that you see everything that they are doing. Another way to thank them is to create a video—it's always a nice surprise!” —Saia R., Girl Scout Senior
Say Thank You with a Treat
“Volunteers help keep Girl Scouts running—from leading troops to buying snacks and bringing cookies to and from cookie booths. One way to thank them is to give them a small gift, like a box of our own delicious cookies! A gift, however small, is a great gesture of appreciation.” —Ava M., Girl Scout Senior
Say Thank You with Words
“I am so very thankful for volunteers. Volunteers make a huge impact and contribute so much to our society. They are an extra set of helping hands, or an extra pair of arms to give a hug to those who may need one. They choose to share their wisdom and kindness to help make any situation a better one.
I believe a wonderful way of thanking a volunteer would be with one’s words, making them aware of how appreciated they are. I am especially thankful for my troop leaders, Gail Monaco and Joanne Rodríguez, and for their time and dedication to our Girl Scout troop. “We always show appreciation by thanking the parents who help out and sending thank-you notes to our guest speakers. Sharing a photo and tagging guests on our troop’s Instagram is always appreciated. As a volunteer, I love the small ways my girls show their thoughtfulness, from birthdays cards to hugs.
