Mermaids on the Move: June 23–June 30, 2024
Calling all Girl Scout Cadettes! Spend a week in the sunshine state and experience all the different ways you can have aquatic adventures in nature.
About the Trip
Paddle around the fresh water of Weeki Wachee Springs State Park
and explore one of Florida’s deepest freshwater caves. Before
heading to the next destination, take some time to watch the live
mermaids and prepare yourself for your own mermaid lessons at the
Mermaid Academy later in the week! Then get ready to head south to
visit the Everglades, where you will participate in a cypress
slogging program. Before you embark on your next adventure, be sure
to enjoy what we call the Space Coast of Cocoa Beach! Afterward,
spend some time learning about sea turtles at the Barrier Island
Education Center and participate in a beach cleanup. When you’re not
exploring all the beautiful nature Florida has to offer, you’ll be
working on how you can give back to the communities you have visited
as well as your own community back home!
