About the Trip
Get ready and get set to experience a wilderness adventure in Maine! Rustic Camp Natarswi stands in the shadows of Mount Katahdin, hugging pristine shorelines within Maine’s Baxter State Park. For 12 days, you'll work on mastering your canoeing and camping skills, building your stamina on adventurous day hikes along the Appalachian Trail, climbing the Natarswi rock, and sleeping under the stars.
You’ll enhance your outdoors skills and experience one-of-a-kind Maine adventures through day trips to underground ice caves, natural waterslides and waterfalls, Maine’s wildest river, and the Appalachian Trail, all while building lasting friendships and a lifetime of memories.
Who Should Apply?
Age: Girl Scouts entering grades 7–9 in summer 2023
Interests: Outdoors, physical activity, camping
Requirements: Some hiking, canoeing, and kayaking experience preferred; teamwork; positive attitude
Equipment: Packing list will be provided after acceptance
Ignite Your Passion! This trip is great for Girl Scouts who are interested in environmental and wildlife conservation.
The Cost
Program fee: $2,200
The program fee does not include airfare. Girls will need to arrange for transportation to and from Bangor, Maine.
Deposit due upon acceptance: $250. (This deposit is included in your program fee.)
Final payment due: June 1, 2023
Cancellation policy: May 1, 2023, is the last day you can cancel and receive a refund (minus deposit).
Financial aid may be available. Check with your local council.
